“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”

-2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NIV)

Counseling

Our counseling therapists are comprised of Licensed and insured Professionals such as; Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), Licensed Masters of Social Work (LMSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), State Certified Holistic Health Specialists and Certified Life Coaches. We are actionable in our service and will develop a treatment plan with obtainable goals and objectives in which clients will work on to foster healthy change in their lives.  The plan is an educational contract to hold the therapist as well as the client accountable to move the process of healing forward.  Therapists will establish a schedule for sessions with the client which usually begin with weekly visits then, as goals and objectives are met, the client will be moved to bi-weekly and eventually monthly until the client and therapist decide on an appropriate date of discharge.  We only expect to see clients for a duration that is deemed effective to foster healing and change in behavior that can be maintained outside of therapists care.  Then, at some point if a client chooses to be seen for life events that arise later, our therapists would be more that happy to assist with further guidance.  We call this a “Realignment Process”.  Just as our vehicles need realignment, so do we.  We don’t always see subtle changes in our “steering mechanisms” until the wheel begins to veer off of the road.  We hit the occasional pot hole or various unforeseen bumps in the road that can do damage over time to our core suspension.  Therefore, maintenance is necessary in order for things to run smoothly.  This is very true in counseling!  We want Awakenings Christian Counseling to be a place where clients feel connected, respected and loved!
